Arugula's back in town! (Sing it to the tune of "boys are back in town") Honestly, I've gotten slightly sick of kale. I'll be ready for it again next week, but this week I need a break. I never understood what all the fuss was about for arugula..until I got it from the CSA this Spring. It actually has it's own flavor! It's not just differently shaped romaine or spinach. In texture, it's probably a combination of the two, actually. But in flavor, it's got more of a peppery bite. In a good way.
In addition to arugula, our half share CSA this week is also: 1 Delicata Squash – sliced, roasted and going in my lunch (I think the warm earthy flavor will be a good contrast to the arugula!) 2 Sweet Peppers – 1 to go in my lunch salad; the other in a chickpea pancake experiment (watch my Instagram for an update/recipe if it turns out well!) 1 bunch of Collard Greens or 1 bunch of Kale or 1 bunch of Arugula – lunch, with the squash + peppers 1 quart of Russet Potatoes – potato-turnip soup, because it's officially fall now 1 bunch of Radishes or 1 bunch of Hakurei Turnips – soup! 1 head of Garlic or 1/2 lb. of Hot Peppers – in the soup + saving for future recipes
